JOB DESCRIPTION

 

JOB TITLE:            Electrical Engineer

 

LOCATION:           Chicago, IL

 

FLSA STATUS:       Exempt

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, design, draw, and provide installation support of electrical equipment for highway, rail, and transit projects

  • Upgrade and modify existing installations

  • Work with multiple aspects of intelligent transportation systems (ITS)

  • Review and modify electrical engineering plans for the removal and installation of temporary and permanent electrical items

  • Review electrical component specifications including lighting, telephone, and fire systems

  • Utilize computer-aided drafting (CAD) software and other engineering software throughout all phases of planning and design to prepare report exhibits and detailed drawings for contract plans

  • Prepare bill of materials and estimates of quantities and cost

  • Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a relate degree program

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience

  • Current Professional Engineer (PE) licensure

  • Must be familiar with computer software including Microsoft Word and Excel
