A few examples of our work

We have successfully completed projects and studies of all sizes in both lead and subconsultant roles. This includes assignments ranging from municipal traffic and parking to major travel corridors spanning multiple jurisdictions and requiring environmental documentation to secure federal and state funding. We take great pride in helping our clients plan, design, and implement their goals. The projects showcased here are only a few that we’ve completed within our six major service areas.


Freight Master OSOW Permit Study


TranSmart Technologies, Inc. provided subconsultant services to the prime firm for the Freight OSOW Permit Study. TranSmart staff extracted information from Wisconsin’s HSI system to identify bridge heights, bridge weight allowances, and lane numbers for specific highways. Additionally, staff identified which intersections on specific highways have peculiar turning movements or roundabouts that may have an effect on OSOW movements. A list of high-priority OSOW roadways and interchanges recommended for necessary improvements was developed.


WisDOT Freeway Surveillance Ramp Meter Control


As a subconsultant TranSmart Technologies Inc. assisted in the completion of a Freeway Ramp Control and Surveillance Sketch Plan. TranSmart’s primary objectives included defining the criteria for applying infrastructure-based traffic control strategies considering safety, technical, political, and environmental issues, collecting data from WisDOT photo logs, field reviews of selected corridors, and providing a summary of all the collected data.



Improvement Prioritization & Project Ranking Study


TranSmart Technologies, Inc. worked with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Southwest Region’s planning group to develop a process using values derived from WisDOT’s Meta-Manager Management Geographic Information System (GIS) to evaluate roadway segments based on five important factors: safety, pavement condition, capacity, bridge conditions, and traffic volume. The analysis was performed for the Region’s 3R and backbone networks. Tasks included data analysis, data development, report preparation, map creation, custom graphics, programming, training, and support.
