A few examples of our work

We have successfully completed projects and studies of all sizes in both lead and subconsultant roles. This includes assignments ranging from municipal traffic and parking to major travel corridors spanning multiple jurisdictions and requiring environmental documentation to secure federal and state funding. We take great pride in helping our clients plan, design, and implement their goals. The projects showcased here are only a few that we’ve completed within our six major service areas.

Transportation Design

East End Avenue - 26th St to 30th St, Illinois

TranSmart assisted the prime firm in conducting a Highway Safety Improvement Project (HSIP) Phase I study for improvements along East End Avenue in Chicago Heights and South Chicago Heights, Illinois. East End Avenue, an unmarked state highway, is scheduled to be resurfaced and restriped from four lanes to three lanes.  TranSmart provided crash analysis, traffic studies, preliminary plans, intersection design studies, a project mosaic exhibit, and the Abbreviated Project Report (Categorical Exclusion) for this project.

STH 100 (Ryan Rd) Reconstruction 27th St to Howell Ave

TranSmart was the prime consultant for the engineering and reconstruction plans for 1.5 miles of STH 100 (Ryan Road) in the City of Oak Creek from 27th Street to Howell Avenue (excluding the I-94 interchange area). TranSmart was responsible for preparing the environmental document and receiving a Categorical Exclusion. The project plans include base maps created by TranSmart. The work included horizontal and vertical layout of Ryan Road, geometric improvements to all signalized and non-signalized intersections, safety improvements resulting from the crash analysis, and addition of bike lanes and ADA compliant sidewalks, curb ramps and crossings. TranSmart completed a cost estimate for the project that was within 2.5% of the winning bid. The proposed typical section is an urban 6-lane median divided roadway with bike lanes and sidewalks. Right-of-way acquisition is needed along the entire length of the project.

STH 100 Reconstruction Loomis to 60th St, City of Franklin

TranSmart Technologies, Inc. provided professional services to Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the preliminary engineering for expansion of STH 100 (Ryan Road) between 60th Street and Loomis Road in the city of Franklin, Wisconsin. The 3-mile project design includes typical section design, horizontal and vertical layout of STH 100, intersection studies and geometric layout of intersections, drainage design and storm water management. The design included creating Trans 75 bicycle and pedestrian accommodations and ADA compliant crossings/ramps. Future phases include final design and PS&E documents. Other tasks provided by TranSmart include preparation of a supplement to the environmental document conducting a safety study and crash analysis, and holding local officials meetings and public information meetings.
