Partnering in Solutions that Work for You

Transportation is not just a branch at TranSmart — it’s our focus. From our inception more than 30 years ago, we have been committed to providing and delivering professional services and solutions for advancing our nation’s transportation infrastructure.

Our March 2022 acquisition by Atlas Technical Consultants (Atlas) – a nationally recognized firm headquartered in Austin, Texas with more than 3,500 professional staff in 43 states – enhances our capabilities to continue to deliver quality project outcomes. With our unique skill set of high-technology and traditional engineering talent, TranSmart is poised to support growth in the Midwest and nationwide working side by side with the Atlas family of engineering companies.

TranSmart is the sum of our diverse, dedicated, and experienced professionals who continually strive to offer our clients the best possible services. We establish and maintain successful client relationships by applying our core values: teamwork, commitment, safety, innovation, quality, and urgency to consistently meet and exceed our client’s needs and expectations.

Our expertise includes all phases of the project life cycle from feasibility studies to construction management. Our group of engineers, planners and specialists are skilled in many areas of transportation including Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS); civil, structural, electrical and traffic engineering; transportation planning; program management and construction inspection services. We have more than 30 licensed Professional Engineers (PE) in many states, and certified specialists with expertise in structural engineering (SE), transportation operations (PTOE), communications (CCNA), sustainability (LEED), bridge inspection (program manager), construction inspection (documentation), safety (RSP1, OSHA and rail safety), connected vehicles (CVP), project management (PMP).

We support diversity in our workforce, professional activities, and philanthropy. As a wholly owned Atlas subsidiary, TranSmart’s diverse executive leadership team remains in place, and more than 60 percent of our staff is comprised of women and minorities. As a graduate of the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program, TranSmart is well positioned to help DBE firms through Mentor/Protégé programs, DBE and Minority and Woman Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) outreach initiatives, and strategic teaming. TranSmart is also committed to support Atlas’s extensive efforts to build diverse project partnerships, and to recruit, develop, and promote diverse talent throughout Atlas.
