As part of this I-90 reconstruction and expansion project team, TranSmart provided civil engineering drainage design services for an eight-mile section (Anthony Road to Harmony Creek). The concept and final drainage designs included: hydrologic and hydraulic modeling; sizing and design of storm sewer and culverts, detention basins, linear stormwater storage elements, and outlet controls; final stormwater management report; obtained the necessary construction permits; and implemented best management practices for soil conservation and pollution control—during and after construction. Additionally, TranSmart provided structural engineering design and construction documents for cast-in-place concrete culverts, headwalls, and end sections for hydraulic elements. TranSmart also developed construction quantity takeoffs and special provisions for the designs. These projects required coordination with multiple agencies, including IDOT, ISTHA, ACOE, IDNR-OWR, and municipalities and villages within the limits of the projects.
