TranSmart provided structural engineering services for the replacement of two bridges carrying Lake Shore Drive over Wilson and Lawrence avenues. The bridges were in need of replacement due to existing roadway deficiencies, vertical clearance deficiencies, traffic safety, pedestrian safety, bicycle safety, and also to support economic development. TranSmart’s team performed visual bridge inspections and documented the current condition of the substructure for each bridge. Inspection drawings were developed to document the state of the structures along with a summary statement and cost estimate for needed repairs.
