TranSmart was part of the engineering design team for rehabilitating a portion of Randall Road that is located over an active rail right-of-way and Tyler Creek in Kane County. The work included temporary and permanent lighting designs, relocating temporary and permanent traffic signal equipment, and relocating of the fiber-optic cable associated with emergency vehicle preemption operations. TranSmart completed a concept study—including photometric and voltage-drop calculations for the temporary and permanent LED lighting; provided plans, specifications, special provisions, and cost estimates for the fiber-optic relocation; and coordinated with Kane County, railroads, and Commonwealth Edison.
