TranSmart provided structural inspection and evaluation services for repairing the bridges carrying the intermediate level of South Water Street over the lower-level roadway (between Michigan and Stetson). The inspection identified the interim repairs necessary to address potential hazards to vehicular and pedestrian traffic prior to the ultimate replacement of the bridges. Plans provided details for removing loose concrete, coating the exposed metal surfaces with corrosion inhibitor, repairing deteriorated concrete columns and deck slabs, and replacing deteriorated expansion joints. TranSmart also provided construction-phase support that included shop drawing reviews and responding to contractor requests for information.
